Job title: Onboarding Specialist I
About the Role Under routine supervision, this position completes DOT applications and onboards commercial, non-commercial, and contract drivers. The Onboarding Specialist documents information from driver-applicants during the hiring process and assists drivers throughout the onboarding process.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain relationships with driver-applicants through verbal and written communication to ensure engagement and readiness through the onboarding process
- Utilize various systems to document all contact with driver-applicants to improve internal communications and maintain compliance
- Request, order, and provide driver applicants’ travel arrangements using company software and coordinating with internal partners for details and hotel arrangements
- Order driver-applicants’ pre-employment drug tests using company software to ensure DOT and company standards are met
- Gather and communicate pertinent information for safety, operations, and compliance personnel using various internal and external systems required for company policies and DOT regulations
- Inform driver-applicants who do not meet hiring requirements that they are currently ineligible, but keep the driver interested in working for J.B. Hunt for a future time
- Continue to promote the company to driver-applicants in the recruiting process
- Ensure drivers have all pertinent information such as job descriptions and onboarding location
- Receive phone applications, screen, and schedule qualified driver-applicants for onboarding and gather all required DOT and company paperwork for applicants using multiple systems to ensure DOT requirements are met before hire
- Balance inbound and outbound calls within a call center
What We're Looking For
- Minimum qualifications: Effective written and verbal communication; 1 year of related experience; Basic experience in Microsoft Office; Aptitude to learn new computer programs quickly
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Dynamics or ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems)
- Skills & Abilities: Written and verbal communication; basic time management; ability to influence across multiple levels; critical thinking, problem solving, and troubleshooting; professionalism; ability to perform in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities; superior service; computer efficiency; strong interpersonal skills; team-oriented

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $19.50 per hour
