About this role

About the Role The Onboarding team supports regulatory, legal and credit-related due diligence when onboarding new clients and sits within Marex's Control & Support department. This role reports to the Director Onboarding and requires close collaboration with the Financial Crime team to ensure local regulatory requirements are met across APAC offices. The role will help manage client onboarding activities, maintain data integrity, and ensure timely activation of client accounts. What You'll Do

  • Ensure that appropriate CDD/KYC and AML checks are carried out on all new customers in accordance with local regulatory requirements, in conjunction with the Financial Crime team.
  • Ensure appropriate customer categorizations and client documentation in line with local regulatory and exchange requirements.
  • Ensure periodic reviews and ongoing monitoring of client relationships.
  • Manage and prioritize the customer pipeline weekly with the business.
  • Maintain the integrity of static data in the Client Database (PeopleSoft) and keep complete records of all customer documentation.
  • Ensure accounts are activated and closed in the Client Database following group policies.
  • Advise Front-Office on onboarding policies and documentation requirements.
  • Assist on ad-hoc reviews/projects/audits as assigned by Line Manager.
  • Handle day-to-day ad-hoc queries and coordinate with stakeholders.
  • Keep management informed of issues and developments; escalate risks as required.
  • Work closely with the Financial Crime team and other stakeholders.
  • Support region with onboarding across multiple offices. What We're Looking For
  • Work experience in client onboarding function.
  • KYC and risk assessment of clients.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter; takes initiative and ownership.
  • Strong prioritisation skills; able to manage time-critical deliverables.
  • Excellent communication – especially working with international colleagues and clients.
  • Experience in multiple Asian jurisdictions preferred (Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand).
  • Experience onboarding APAC clients strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in business language for China market clients.
  • Supported a global business in a follow-the-sun model (preferable).
  • A collaborative team player, approachable, self-efficient and able to influence a positive work environment.
  • Demonstrates curiosity and resilience in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to take a high level of responsibility in a fast pace and high-volume environment.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of risk and compliance requirements.
  • Worked in support of trading desks is a plus.
  • Able to work align with the Australia market hours or under instruction of the line manager.
  • Analytical skills and problem solving.
  • Experience in AI applications (Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude) is a plus. Nice to Have
  • APAC onboarding experience with a strong preference for APAC clients.
  • Experience operating in a follow-the-sun or global delivery model.
