Job title: On site DC IT Technician - Berlin (m/f/x)
About the Role Join OVHcloud's DC Operations team in Berlin as a DC IT Technician responsible for the opening and operational launch of the new Berlin data center. You will oversee installation and maintenance of data center infrastructure to guarantee continuity of service, while collaborating with 24/7 teams and adapting to a dynamic site-opening environment.
What You'll Do
- Participate in installation of services
- Install racks, power, cooling, and network connections
- Install infrastructure equipment including cooling systems
- Install probes and alerts to manage infrastructure equipment
- Connect power and network cables inside server and network racks
- Install/uninstall servers as required by the DC Manager and operational plan
- Assemble and install computer hardware (build/upgrade servers)
- Contribute to datacenter systems architecture and provide first-level support
- Inspect IT and infrastructure alarms and schedule repairs
- Ensure servers function properly via monitoring and analysis
- Respond to monitoring alerts or customer tickets; perform curative maintenance
- Troubleshoot issues using network/server tools; replace failed networking devices
- Emergency response, safety protocol adherence, and on-call readiness
- Coordinate with 24/7 teams and improve customer relations
- Share information with maintenance agents; report to the DC Manager
- Respect schedules/targets; relay anomalies to maintain quality
- Escalate incident tickets to Level 2 where appropriate
- Upgrade servers by replacing obsolete components
- Assist team members with other IT/infra maintenance tasks
- Follow setup and maintenance procedures; keep asset databases up to date
- Contribute to datacenter maintenance; assist contractors/providers
- Support ventilation, refrigeration, cooling systems; perform repairs as needed
- Conduct preventative diagnostics on cooling equipment
- Perform regular maintenance procedures
- Manage logistics of orders and dispatch
What We're Looking For
- Post-secondary or equivalent qualification in electronics / IT / Maintenance
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role
- Strong electrical aptitude to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems in a data center
- Authorization/qualification to operate and handle technical service vehicles per safety regulations
- Driving license mandatory
- Basic knowledge of computer networking
- Basic knowledge of datacenter infrastructure
- Fluency in English
- Knowledge in logistics and stock management
- Effective problem-solving abilities
