About the Role The Mercer Vicinage of the New Jersey Judiciary seeks a proactive Ombudsman for court users to strengthen public trust and improve the experience of people interacting with the courts. Under the direction of the Court Executive 3B (Trial Court Administrator), you will lead the development and management of programs designed to promote public trust in the courts, enhance customer service, provide procedural assistance to self-representing litigants, educate the public about programs and services, and facilitate the resolution of complaints. This is a hybrid role within the Judiciary’s operations. What You'll Do
- Develop and manage programs to promote public trust in the courts and enhance customer service.
- Provide procedural assistance to self-representing litigants.
- Educate the public regarding judiciary programs and services.
- Facilitate the resolution of complaints and inquiries from court users.
- Collaborate with court leadership and staff to improve user experience and lead the Ombudsman function under the direction of Court Executive 3B. What We're Looking For
- A proactive manager with exceptional customer service, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Experience developing and managing programs to promote public trust and improve customer service in a court or public-service setting.
- Ability to provide procedural assistance to self-representing litigants and educate the public about programs and services.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to resolve complaints and work with diverse court users.
- Capacity to operate effectively within a hybrid work environment. Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $94,937.45 to $152,547.50; starting salary at the minimum for new hires; for current Judiciary employees, a promotion/advancement salary increase of 5% of base salary, not to exceed the maximum of the range, or the minimum salary of the band/level, whichever is greater.
