Job title: Oil and Gas Operations Instructor - Certificate Programs
About the Role This role supports teaching certificate courses in oil and gas operations with emphasis on well plugging and abandonment, field practices, and safety. It contributes to workforce education within Youngstown State University’s mission. Faculty are expected to maintain a consistent, in-person presence on location throughout the standard workweek and be on-site each day during normal business hours.
What You'll Do
- Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success.
- Responds to students in a timely manner.
- Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university-provided tools and resources.
- Maintain regular on-site engagement during the standard workweek.
What We're Looking For
- Earned bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field.
- At least 5 years of industry experience in oil/gas well operations, workover/completions, plugging and abandonment.
- Ability to teach in-person and maintain on-site presence.
- Preferred: Prior teaching or training experience; industry certifications (safety, well control, H2S); experience in Appalachian Basin operations.
