About the Role Saipem is seeking an Offshore Mechanic to perform maintenance and repair of mechanical production equipment on offshore installations. This role ensures safe, reliable operation of pipelay equipment, cranes, winches, hydraulic systems, power packs, air compressors and diesel engines across offshore projects. You will work within Saipem's safety culture and reporting structure on the offshore vessel or installation. What You'll Do
- Carry out maintenance and repair of all mechanical production equipment in a safe manner.
- Carry out maintenance and repair of all pipelay equipment.
- Carry out the maintenance of cranes and winches.
- Maintain ILT, hydraulic and diesel hammer, pumps of hydraulic power pack, air compressor and diesel engines.
- Ensure housekeeping in the working area.
- Comply with pollution prevention/mitigation procedures.
- Participate in daily toolbox talks and JSA when required.
- Ensure tools are stored in the appropriate location after use.
- Report incidents and near-miss events to the supervisor on duty.
- Always wear PPE during own work shift.
- Attend all emergency drills.
- Report to the Mechanic Foreman Offshore; at the discretion of the Chief Engineer, may report to other functions onboard. What We're Looking For
- Education: Technical qualification in a mechanical field.
- Experience: 5 years as an offshore mechanic within offshore Oil & Gas.
- Languages: English language at B1 level (or equivalent). Compensation & Benefits
