Job title: Officer, Financial Accounting

About the Role To provide a professional reporting and accounting support service to ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), applicable legislation, Eskom policies and procedures in support of sound financial control and discipline. The Officer Financial Accounting will contribute to accurate financial reporting and compliance within the Finance department.

What You'll Do

• Provide statutory reporting packs and schedules.
• Monitor general ledger, tax compliance, sundry debtors and retention management.
• Ensure foreign exchange coordination and hedge accounting.
• Maintain stakeholder management and facilitate controls.
• Supervise employees in the functional area.

What We're Looking For

• Qualification: National Diploma/National N Diploma in Financial Accounting/Finance at NQF6 with 240 credits.
• Related Minimum Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in financial accounting.
• Behavioral competencies: Accountability, Integrity, Professionalism; Influence and persuasion; Team player, Motivating teams, Coaching, Mentoring.
• Knowledge and skills: Budgeting and Forecasting, Closing/Consolidation, External Reporting, Financial and Accounting, Financial Analysis and Reporting, Financial Forecasting and Projections, Financial Information Compilation, Information Interpretation, Financial Risk Assessment, Financial Systems, General Ledger Maintenance, Internal Control.
• Skills: Analytical, Communication, Interpersonal, Project management.
