Reporting Structure: Reports to the VP of Finance
Compensation: $80-100k
Company Description: Our client is an early-stage venture capital firm with approximately $750 million in assets under management (AUM). They partner with exceptional, product-driven founders at the earliest stages of company building, investing primarily at the pre-seed stage.
The firm typically invests between $100,000 and $2 million, often serving as the lead institutional investor while partnering with high-value angel investors to help founders build strong pre-seed rounds. Beyond capital, they are committed to supporting entrepreneurs as they transform ambitious ideas into category-defining companies.
Position Overview: The Office Manager will play an integral role in ensuring smooth day-to-day office operations while providing high-level administrative support to the team, including founders and guests. You’ll be responsible for managing the office environment, coordinating team events, overseeing vendor relationships, and providing proactive, ad-hoc support across the Afore team. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, resourceful, and thrives in a fast-paced startup environment. You’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by optimizing office operations, improving processes, and taking ownership of key workplace and operational initiatives that support the team’s success.
Key Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day office operations, ensuring a seamless and efficient workplace experience.

Oversee office logistics, maintaining an organized, well-equipped workspace, including desks, phone booths, conference rooms, and other office essentials.

Coordinate in-office lunches, team gatherings, and special events in partnership with the Program and Events Manager to ensure successful execution.

Manage vendor relationships, oversee office services, and identify opportunities to enhance the workplace experience and perks for founders and the team.

Manage calendars, scheduling, and meeting logistics for the team as needed.

Support strategic operational initiatives, including vendor management, internal communications, and Slack administration.

Provide proactive, ad-hoc administrative and operational support across the team.

Assist with cross-functional strategic operations projects and process improvements to enhance team efficiency.

Is this you?

2-3 years of relevant experience, preferably in an office manager or executive assistant role, ideally within a startup.

Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.

Positive and cheerful demeanor with an ability to adapt to a fast-paced, flexible work environment.

Comfortable with minimal structure and able to work under supervision while maintaining efficiency.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Strong project management skills.

Must be able to work in-office 4 days a week.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
