About this role
A Morehouse College work-study Office Assistant supports the Capital Improvement and Campus Planning department with administrative and operational tasks to keep campus facilities and projects running efficiently. The role involves document management, project support, quality assurance, and collaboration with Environmental Health and Safety to update the Morehouse chemical inventory. The position is on campus, in Gloster Hall Room 209, and pays $12.00 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Check Campus Operations email daily and maintain documentation in tracking spreadsheets.
- Scan project files and create digital database files for easy access and archiving.
- Move boxes into designated storage areas and organize storage archives.
- Perform quality assurance of scanned files to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with quality assurance inspections in academic buildings.
- Provide support to the Project Manager with errands and project-related tasks across campus.
- Work with the EHS Office to update the Morehouse Chemical Inventory.
- Assist Office Operations with data entry and ad hoc assignments.
- Participate in general office operations as needed to support department functions.
Requirements
- Must be eligible for Federal or Institutional Work Study.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and complete tasks independently.
- Comfortable handling both administrative and light physical tasks (such as moving boxes).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic computer skills.
- Professional demeanor with the ability to interact with faculty, staff, and students.
- Ability to operate office equipment (fax, copier, scanner).
- Team player with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively in writing (emails) and verbally.
- Database management experience.
