About the Role The Ocean Import Specialist will manage end-to-end ocean import shipments for DHL, coordinating with carriers, customs brokers, and customers to ensure on-time delivery and compliance with regulations.
This role focuses on optimizing import operations and providing excellent service to internal and external stakeholders.
What You'll Do
- Coordinate ocean import shipments from origin to destination, including documentation, booking, and scheduling.
- Communicate with carriers, suppliers, and customers to track shipments and resolve issues.
- Ensure compliance with import regulations, tariffs, and documentation requirements.
- Collaborate with customs brokers and internal teams to facilitate smooth clearance and delivery.
- Monitor KPIs and escalate exceptions as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in ocean import operations or freight forwarding is desirable.
- Knowledge of import regulations, Incoterms, and customs processes.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple shipments.
- Proficiency with transportation management systems or ERP is a plus.
