About the Role Occupational Therapist I – Inpatient/Outpatient across multiple locations (Evanston, Skokie, Elmhurst) provides OT evaluation, treatment planning, and care coordination to improve patients' function and independence. This role involves collaboration with physicians, nursing staff, and families to develop and implement patient-centered care plans. What You'll Do

  • Assess, treat, and care for patients in assigned area. Implements assessment/treatment/care based on developmental stages of the patient.
  • Evaluate patient’s functional abilities/disabilities utilizing techniques appropriate to the patient type including assessment of upper extremity strength, range of motion, pain, sensation, coordination, activities of daily living, transfers, cognitive, perceptual, visual, home management skills and splint fabrication.
  • Establish treatment plan which specifies treatment goals and modalities to aid the patient in regaining function, increasing strength, and decreasing pain.
  • Administer and instruct patients in performance of all aspects of the treatment plan, assessing effectiveness and modifying as necessary.
  • Prepare and complete all patient records, billing and documentation according to departmental guidelines.
  • Communicate and work in cooperation with physicians, nursing and other staff to provide optimal patient care.
  • Involve the patient, family and caregivers in the plan of care, including next-level-of-care planning. Conduct patient/family education sessions and provide self-directed programs considering developmental needs of the patient.
  • Assist with supervision of paraprofessional staff, students and volunteers as directed; delegate tasks and monitor performance to ensure tasks are completed correctly.
  • Utilize correct body mechanics. Adhere to hospital and departmental safety precautions and infection control procedures.
  • Assist with planning and conducting in-service programs and participate in staff meetings, rehab conferences and educational programs. Attend all mandatory in-services.
  • Assume responsibility for own professional growth; keep abreast of developments in Occupational Therapy and incorporate approved developments in treatment and evaluation plans.
  • Participate in departmental Quality Assurance Program and special assignments as requested.
  • Adhere to all Endeavor Health standards, policies and procedures.
  • Occasionally acts as a resource to fellow clinical staff and participates in process improvement initiatives in a limited capacity. What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an AOTA-accredited school, or the equivalent.
  • Current Illinois licensure or eligibility; Certification by National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy.
  • American Heart Association BLS CPR certification.
  • Ability to work across inpatient and outpatient settings and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. Nice to Have

  • Salary range: $32.60 - $48.90 hourly (USD).
