About the Role As Thrive OT, you will deliver school-based occupational therapy services to students in K–12 who have disabilities impacting access to education. Your focus will be on fine motor development, sensory processing, self-care, and classroom participation. You will be a full member of the school community. What You'll Do
- Conduct comprehensive OT evaluations to determine educational need and IDEA eligibility, administering standardized tools such as Beery VMI, SIPT, BOT-2, SPM, COPM, and others.
- Write evaluation reports that are clinically rigorous, educationally relevant, and accessible to IEP teams and families.
- Participate in eligibility determination meetings and translate OT findings for educational planning; conduct triennial re-evaluations in accordance with IDEA timelines.
- Develop individualized OT IEP goals targeting handwriting, fine motor coordination, sensory regulation, and functional self-care.
- Deliver direct therapy to individuals and small groups using Ayres Sensory Integration, CO-OP, sensory diet programming, and related approaches.
- Design and implement sensory diets, environmental modifications, and adaptive equipment recommendations to support classroom participation.
- Provide consultative support to teachers and paraprofessionals on sensory accommodations and adaptive strategies.
- Maintain accurate service logs and progress notes, supported by Thrive’s AI documentation tools.
- Collaborate with SLPs, PTs, BCBAs, school psychologists, and special education teachers on integrated IEP teams. What We're Looking For
- ACOTE-accredited OT degree required.
- NBCOT certification and active state OT license required or in transfer.
- Knowledge of IDEA/IEP.
- School-based OT experience preferred. Nice to Have
- Experience with Beery VMI, SIPT, BOT-2, SPM, COPM, and AAC.
- Training in Ayres Sensory Integration, CO-OP, sensory diet programming, and ability to design environmental modifications and adaptive equipment recommendations. Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $90k-$98k per year.
- Sign-on Bonus: $6,000.
