About the Role The Occupational Health Nurse at Corning assesses and treats employees for work-related illnesses and injuries, maintaining medical records and coordinating required medical interventions. This role upholds health and safety standards, protects privacy, and communicates with staff and leadership to keep Health Services informed. What You'll Do
- Provide nursing assessments and recommendations for employee illnesses and injuries.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of treatment in the EMR in compliance with OSHA or equivalent standards.
- Manage and implement the site’s Medical Emergency Response Program.
- Guide disability processes and coordinate with insurance carriers, Benefits, Workers’ Compensation, Safety, and the Company Physician to facilitate timely work-related care.
- Ensure effective case management and absence management through PIIM to enable early safe return-to-work with appropriate accommodations.
- Perform required medical surveillance per OSHA or national standards.
- Provide medical treatment within scope of licensure and training.
- Participate in Corning Health and Safety Programs and 24/7 Health initiatives (e.g., smoking cessation, fitness program, blood drives, flu shots, weight management).
- Interact with external medical providers as needed.
- Manage medical inventory and report to Health Services Leadership, maintaining alignment with Global Health Standards. What We're Looking For
- Minimum 5+ years Registered Nurse experience; Occupational Health Nursing preferred; ER/ICU/Med-Surg nursing experience.
- BSN (Bachelor’s degree in nursing).
- Current CPR Certification with ability to manage emergency response.
- Knowledge of preventing and managing occupational injuries.
- Ability to maintain effective and organized systems for timely patient flow.
- Strong teamwork, self-direction, and motivation.
- Ability to respond to calls during off hours to manage emergencies.
- Strong verbal communication skills. Nice to Have
