About the Role Observability Engineering Manager who will lead the development of the distributed tracing or service mesh products as part of our Observability group. Engineering managers at Canonical are coders who review and lead both architecture and code and hold colleagues to high standards. This role will help us build an observability stack that is easy to deploy and operate on Kubernetes.
What You'll Do
- Lead the development of the distributed tracing or service mesh products as part of the Observability group.
- Code and review architecture and code, aligning with Canonical's engineering management approach.
- Help build an observability stack that is easy to deploy and operate on Kubernetes.
- Contribute to delivering deep integration and automation for metrics, logging, telemetry, alerting, tracing and profiling.
What We're Looking For
- Strong software engineering background with experience as a coder and engineering manager.
- Ability to review and lead both architecture and code.
- Experience in distributed tracing or service mesh technologies.
- Experience building observability stacks on Kubernetes.
- Excellent people skills, able to set expectations and hold colleagues accountable.
