Job title: Oboe Teacher & Wind Department Chair (Retirement Replacement)
About the Role Concord Community Music School is seeking to fill the role of oboe teacher and wind department chair following the retirement of Stefani Burk after 36 years on the faculty. The role will continue CCMS’s tradition of wind and oboe instruction and support student musicians in recitals and ensembles. Burk's legacy includes building woodwind programs serving Bates and Bowdoin Colleges and local high schools.
What You'll Do
- Teach oboe and other wind instruments as part of CCMS's wind department
- Provide leadership and collaboration within the wind department
- Mentor and inspire students, help prepare them for recitals
- Participate in school activities and community outreach
What We're Looking For
- Experienced oboe teacher with a track record of building woodwind programs
- Natural leader and educator with the ability to work with a diverse student body and families
- Commitment to CCMS's mission and the tradition of classical wind pedagogy as well as ensemble work
Nice to Have
- Experience organizing and leading wind ensembles or chamber music projects
- Willingness to engage with student families and the wider CCMS community
