About the Role The Nutritionist serves as the primary Nutrition Dept. staff member responsible for nutrition-related needs by planning menus, providing nutrition education in the community, conducting nutrition consultations and performing kitchen inspections. This position requires travel to dining centers, home-delivered meal sites, and caterers in the region.
What You'll Do
- Conduct food safety and sanitation inspections twice yearly at LifePath Dining Center, Luncheon Club, and HDM kitchen; monitor Choke Saver and ServSafe certifications; perform follow-up inspections as needed.
- Review and edit monthly menus for HDM and Congregate meals; enter information into Computrition; analyze nutritional value of meals; communicate findings to sites.
- Prepare and submit annual nutrition education plan; deliver two nutrition education programs per year at each dining center; develop lesson plans and evaluations; write nutrition education column for menus; write articles for The Good Life.
- Review and approve therapeutic meal requests; counsel individuals with life-threatening allergies; conduct in-home or telephonic nutrition counseling; record results in Wellsky A&D.
- Attend nutrition program meetings; prepare monthly activity reports; perform other duties as assigned by the Nutrition Program Director.
What We're Looking For
- Active state license as a registered dietitian in good standing.
- ServSafe certification; Choke Saver certification.
- Experience in nutrition education and counseling; knowledge of seniors' nutritional health needs preferred.
- Familiarity with food service operations and sanitation principles; reliable transportation.
- Competency with Computrition and Wellsky A&D software.

- Experience working with seniors in community settings.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $34,000-$37,000 per year (part-time).
- Location: Greenfield, MA; in-person with community/home visits.
