Description

This temporary position assists designated Lab management in the guidance of students and provides technical assistance to the students for formal college lab and open lab practice. This position also works with multimedia hardware and software as well as practice simulators. This position adheres to departmental guidance, College policies and procedures and elevates questions and issues outside established protocol to the Dean of the School of Nursing and Health Sciences for resolution.

What You Will Do
-
- Assists students in the Nursing Skills lab in the utilization of practice simulators and computer/multimedia software and hardware.

- Provides remediation, skills clarification to students as requested by the faculty and/or clinical instructors.

- Assists in the identification of course-appropriate clinical practice opportunities available in the lab.

- Remains available to meet lab-staffing needs.

- Provides input to the Lab Manager related to student lab needs.

- Remains current with the changing trends in nursing practice and evolving technology.

- Assists in the development of new Nursing

Lab experiences and in the revision of current experiences.

- Maintains adequate supplies for the Lab experiences and in the revision of current experiences.

- Assists with student focus groups to enhance clinical skills and critical thinking abilities.

- Related duties as assigned.

The Successful Candidate Must Have
-
- BSN Degree.

- Two years of recent nursing experience, with emphasis on medical-surgical procedures and lab experience related to nursing.

- Current active license as Registered Nurse in the State of NJ.

- At least one year of recent experience working with multimedia computers and word processing software.
