Corewell Health is hiring a full-time Nurse Tech for its Progressive Neurosurgical unit (4 South, 44 beds) at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI, the flagship hospital for Corewell Health Grand Rapids Hospitals. This night-shift role (7pm-7:30am, self-schedule, every other weekend) supports general neurology and complex neurosurgical patients, including spine surgery, craniotomy/craniectomy for brain tumor resection, aneurysm interventions, stroke, seizure, and conditions like Guillain-Barre syndrome and multiple sclerosis.
Under the supervision of a nurse, the Nurse Tech performs routine bedside care such as bathing, grooming, ambulating, moving/turning patients, assisting with bedpans/urinary devices, and bed-making, plus procedures like catheterizations, suctioning, colostomy irrigation, applying restraints, and peri care. The role involves caring for multiple patients with varied diagnoses, including some fall-risk patients.
