About the Role The Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join our team in a full-time position in the Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) within Adult Psychiatry. This role will provide clinical care at the New York Presbyterian Hospital at CUIMC. What You'll Do
- Provide diagnostic psychiatric evaluations for patients in the adult emergency department.
- Order, interprets, and records results of clinical tests and reports results to physicians.
- Assess for risk factors and contraindications to treatment.
- Provide psychopharmacologic and short-term psychotherapeutic treatments for a wide range of psychiatric diagnoses.
- Work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Document essential elements of patient care in accordance with regulatory and institutional standards; perform general administrative functions as assigned. What We're Looking For
- Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience, plus four years of related experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Nursing.
- Other Requirements: Current New York State Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse licenses; National Board Certification as PMHNP; DEA certificate; Valid BLS; ability to complete online systems training.
- Additional Experience: A minimum of two (2) years' experience in outpatient, inpatient, or emergency department settings; strong flexibility and collaboration. Nice to Have
- None Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $162,750 - $162,750 per year.
- The salary offer is based on a range reflecting departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.
