About the Role The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine's Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide clinical research assessments and outpatient services in behavioral health, collaborating with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other clinicians. This role supports the university's mission in research and clinical care. What You'll Do
- Work with a designated supervisor to provide comprehensive, continuous, and personalized care to patients in various areas of behavioral health.
- Participate in clinical research activities.
- Collect comprehensive histories of new patients.
- Conduct basic physical and psychosocial assessments of individuals and/or families.
- Work with physicians and other clinicians in the delivery of care.
- Manage common episodic and chronic illnesses and administer medications and treatments as prescribed; obtain treatment consents as needed.
- Provide counseling and health training.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Perform related duties based on departmental need. What We're Looking For
- Ability to assist in providing comprehensive, continuous, and personalized care in behavioral health settings under supervision.
- Experience or ability to participate in clinical research activities and outpatient services.
- Strong skills in collecting patient histories and conducting basic physical and psychosocial assessments.
- Competence in collaborating with psychiatrists, psychologists, other advanced practice providers, and social workers to deliver care.
- Ability to manage common episodic and chronic illnesses and document care accurately.
- Commitment to academic excellence and patient-centered care in a multidisciplinary environment.
