The foundation was formed by some eminent survivors of the Insurgency in North-east Nigeria and a few well-meaning Individuals who came together with a vision to see Nigeria a poverty free place where peace will abide and humanity can live freely in harmony.

About the Role
- Lindii Peace Foundation (LPF) is seeking a qualified, compassionate and experienced Nurse Officer to provide quality nursing care and support the effective delivery of health services to vulnerable and crisis-affected populations.
- The Nurse Officer will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care, supporting clinical assessment and treatment, monitoring patients, administering medications and contributing to health promotion, disease prevention and patient education in accordance with approved clinical guidelines and professional standards.
- The successful candidate will work closely with Medical Doctors, midwives, pharmacists, laboratory personnel, community health workers and other members of the health team to ensure safe, timely and patient-centred care.
- The position will also contribute to infection prevention and control, accurate clinical documentation, referrals, emergency response and continuous improvement of the quality of healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
Nursing Care and Patient Management:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in accordance with established clinical guidelines and nursing standards.
- Conduct initial nursing assessments and monitor patients' health status and clinical progress.
- Take and record vital signs and identify changes requiring medical attention.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments safely and accurately.
- Provide appropriate nursing interventions based on patients' conditions and care plans.
- Assist Medical Doctors and other clinical staff during consultations, procedures and emergency care.
- Monitor patients before, during and after treatment or procedures.
- Provide appropriate follow-up care and report significant changes in patients' conditions.
- Ensure that patients receive respectful, compassionate and non-discriminatory care.
- Identify emergency cases and promptly escalate them to the appropriate medical personnel.
Maternal, Newborn and Child Health Support:
- Support the delivery of maternal, newborn and child health services as applicable to the programme.
- Assist with antenatal, postnatal and other relevant maternal health services.
- Support the identification of high-risk pregnancies and facilitate appropriate referral.
- Provide appropriate nursing care to mothers and newborns within the scope of professional competence.
- Support child health assessments and management of common childhood conditions.
- Provide health education to mothers, caregivers and families on appropriate healthcare practices.
- Promote timely care-seeking and adherence to treatment and follow-up recommendations.
Medication and Treatment Administration:
- Administer prescribed medications in accordance with approved procedures and treatment protocols.
- Verify prescriptions and patient information before medication administration.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions and report concerns promptly.
- Support appropriate medication adherence and patient education.
- Work closely with the pharmacist and clinical team on medication-related concerns.
- Maintain accurate medication administration records.
- Report medication errors, adverse drug reactions or other patient safety concerns through established mechanisms.
Infection Prevention and Control:
- Adhere to established infection prevention and control procedures at all times.
- Apply appropriate hand hygiene and standard precautions during patient care.
- Use personal protective equipment appropriately.
- Support proper sterilization, disinfection and safe handling of medical equipment.
- Ensure appropriate segregation and disposal of healthcare waste.
- Promote infection prevention practices among patients, caregivers and health workers.
- Report infection control risks or breaches to the appropriate supervisor.
Patient Education and Health Promotion:
- Provide patients and caregivers with appropriate health information and counselling.
- Educate patients on medication use, treatment adherence and follow-up care.
- Support health promotion and disease prevention activities.
- Provide information on hygiene, nutrition, maternal and child health and other relevant health topics.
- Participate in community health education and awareness activities where required.
- Promote respectful communication and encourage patients to seek appropriate care when needed.
Patient Records and Clinical Documentation:
- Maintain accurate, complete and timely nursing documentation.
- Record patient observations, treatment, medication administration and nursing interventions appropriately.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of patient records and medical information.
- Ensure relevant registers, referral forms and other clinical records are properly completed.
- Contribute to accurate collection and reporting of health service data.
- Ensure clinical documentation supports continuity and quality of patient care.
Referral and Continuity of Care:
- Identify patients requiring medical review, specialist care or referral.
- Promptly communicate referral needs to the Medical Doctor or appropriate supervisor.
- Support preparation of patients for referral and ensure relevant documentation is completed.
- Follow up on referred patients where required and support continuity of care.
- Maintain appropriate referral records and documentation.
- Ensure patients and caregivers understand referral instructions and follow-up requirements.
Emergency and Clinical Support:
- Respond promptly and appropriately to medical emergencies within the scope of professional competence.
- Provide first aid and emergency nursing interventions as required.
- Assist Medical Doctors and other clinical staff during emergency management.
- Monitor critically ill or unstable patients and promptly escalate changes in condition.
- Ensure emergency equipment and essential supplies are appropriately available and maintained.
- Participate in emergency preparedness and response activities where required.
Teamwork and Technical Support:
- Work collaboratively with Medical Doctors, midwives, pharmacists, laboratory personnel, community health workers and other health staff.
- Participate in multidisciplinary case management and clinical review meetings.
- Provide appropriate nursing guidance and support to junior or support health personnel where applicable.
- Contribute to a positive, respectful and professional working environment.
- Maintain effective communication with programme and support teams.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings and other professional development activities.
Programme Reporting and Quality Improvement:
