Job title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist

About the Role Under the direction of the Nuclear Medicine Manager and Clinical Director of Nuclear Medicine, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) performs all technical procedures within Nuclear Medicine, including general nuclear medicine, PET/CT, and radionuclide therapy. The NMT delivers safe and effective imaging, participates in departmental education programs and QA/QI activities, and collaborates with imaging staff, nursing, and providers to support cancer care and related research.

What You'll Do

  • Perform all technical procedures (general nuclear medicine, PET/CT, radionuclide therapy) to obtain high-quality patient scans
  • Deliver safe and effective imaging procedures and contribute to patient safety and workflow
  • Establish intravenous access; receive, dispense, administer, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals and imaging contrast agents per regulatory and protocol requirements
  • Ensure imaging systems and equipment operate at accepted standards; perform routine maintenance and take corrective action as needed
  • Perform required quality control on imaging equipment and devices
  • Manage imaging datasets (transfer, archive, retrieval) and maintain accurate records and reports
  • Train new hires and students
  • Participate in departmental research; engage in QA/QI programs and maintain HIPAA-compliant practices
  • Communicate effectively with patients to ensure understanding of procedures; assist with patient flow and scheduling through EMR systems
  • Work under the Nuclear Medicine Manager/Supervisor and radiology physicians to deliver high-quality imaging and care

What We're Looking For

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills to work effectively with peers, colleagues, managers, and diverse teams
  • Technical skills associated with the Nuclear Medicine Technologist scope of responsibility
  • Knowledge of radiation safety principles and procedures, and ability to follow safety guidelines to ensure patient safety
  • Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and ability to adhere to regulatory, accreditation, and institutional requirements
  • Ability to establish intravenous access and handle radiopharmaceuticals per protocol under supervision
  • Willingness and ability to train and mentor new hires and students

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $109,096.00 - $129,594.40 per year (USD)
