Job title: Nuclear Med Tech
About the Role Perform a variety of nuclear medicine procedures using specialized equipment, produce films as assigned, operate routine nuclear medicine cameras, and maintain accurate records.
What You'll Do
- Demonstrate compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies; resolve questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
- Obtain all pertinent medical information from patients to identify age-specific needs.
- Perform nuclear medicine procedures of high technical quality.
- Utilize proper radiation protection to protect patients from excessive radiation.
- Use all equipment proficiently and report any deficiencies to the supervisor.
- Maintain x-ray rooms neatly and stocked for exams and at end of shift, if applicable.
- Assist in other areas of the assigned department as needed.
- Complete daily assignments within the scheduled shift; communicate pertinent information and unfinished tasks to relief personnel.
- Use time between procedures to maintain a safe, clean environment; manage inventory of supplies; prepare and maintain records concerning radiopharmaceutical receiving, dispensing and disposal (if applicable).
- Use the hospital information management system for patient demographics and other information.
- Communicate with co-workers prior to breaks and lunches to ensure workflow continuity.
- Complete procedures in accordance with protocol.
What We're Looking For
- Education: Graduate of an Accredited School of Nuclear Medicine Technology (required if hired after March 1, 2025).
- Licensure/Certification: ARRT Nuclear Medicine (NM) or NMTCB Certified Technologist Nuclear Medicine; American Heart Association BLS.
- Experience: Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience (preferred).
- Skills: Ability to communicate with patients and staff; ability to learn complex tasks; ability to operate general office equipment; accurate record keeping; complex math; fine motor skills; knowledge of medications and procedures in nuclear medicine; strong written and verbal communication.
Nice to Have
- Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience (preferred).
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $49.84 - $75.71 per hour (USD).
