Job title: Nuclear Med Tech
About the Role The Nuclear Med Tech performs a variety of procedures using nuclear medicine equipment, produces imaging films as assigned, and maintains accurate records. This role supports high-quality patient care through precise imaging and strict adherence to radiation safety and hospital procedures.
What You'll Do
- Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and reports suspected violations.
- Obtains all pertinent medical information from patient to identify age-specific needs.
- Performs nuclear medicine procedures of high technical quality.
- Utilizes proper radiation protection to protect the patient from excessive radiation.
- Uses all equipment proficiently and reports deficiencies to the immediate supervisor.
- Maintains exam rooms neatly and stocked for exams and at end of shift, if applicable.
- Assists in other areas of the assigned department as needed.
- Completes daily assignments within the scheduled shift; communicates pertinent information and unfinished tasks to relief personnel.
- Uses time between procedures to maintain a safe, clean environment; maintains inventory of supplies and prepares/maintains records concerning radiopharmaceutical receiving, dispensing and disposal activities, if applicable.
- Uses hospital information management system for patient demographics and other patient information.
- Communicates with co-workers prior to breaks and lunches to ensure continuity of workflow.
- Completes procedures with high technical quality.
What We're Looking For
- Education: Graduate of Accredited School of Nuclear Medicine Technology if hired after March 1, 2025.
- Licensure/ Certification: ARRT Nuclear Medicine (NM) or NMTCB Certified Technologist Nuclear Medicine; American Heart Association BLS.
- Experience: Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience preferred.
- Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Strong communication with patients and staff; ability to learn complex tasks; ability to operate general office equipment; prioritization and time management; complex math skills; fine motor skills; knowledge of medications and procedures used in nuclear medicine; written and verbal communication.
Nice to Have
- Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience (preferred).
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $49.84 - $75.71 per hour.
- Shift: Day; Hours: 40 per week.
