The Assembler Level 3 role at Precision Castparts is based in Kent, Washington, United States. The position involves assembling complex components and subassemblies into finished products, following engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards. The shift is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This role requires a high level of mechanical aptitude, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Assemble components and subassemblies into completed products according to engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Perform complex mechanical assemblies using a variety of hand tools, power tools, fixtures, and measuring equipment.
- Inspect parts and completed assemblies to ensure they meet dimensional, visual, and quality specifications.
- Verify product acceptance using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve minor assembly or fit-up issues while maintaining product quality.
- Read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
- Maintain accurate production and quality records as required.
- Handle materials and components carefully to prevent damage during the assembly process.
- Maintain measuring equipment in good working condition and use it in a manner that prevents damage or loss of calibration.
- Follow all company safety policies, quality procedures, and manufacturing standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S and housekeeping standards.
- Assist in training and mentoring lower-level assemblers as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Three or more years of manufacturing or mechanical assembly experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and written work instructions.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Physical requirements: ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday; frequently lift and move up to 35 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds with assistance; manual dexterity to handle small parts and use hand and power tools; ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures while using required PPE.
