About the Role Syracuse University is seeking a Non Food Handler to perform routine dishwashing and related sanitation tasks in a dining hall or related facility on campus. The role supports student services by maintaining cleanliness, safety, and high sanitation standards in the food service environment. On-campus presence is required and remote work arrangements are limited.
What You'll Do
- Load and operate a dishwashing machine.
- Remove and store washed dishes, glasses, cups, silverware, etc.
- Wash pots, pans and cooking utensils.
- Mop floors, wash walls, windows, cabinets, shelves, equipment, etc., including locker room and bathroom areas.
- Clear and clean tables and dispose of trash and garbage.
- Observe safety and health regulations and maintain highest standards of sanitation.
- May move materials into and out of storage area.
- May fill milk and beverage dispensers and replenish as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Ability to read, write, and follow instructions; record temperatures on dish machines, freezers, etc.
- Willingness to perform duties in a fast-paced dining environment and to work as part of a team.
- Physical requirements: standing, bending, stooping, walking, and lifting 15-30 pounds on a daily basis; ability to work with dust, fumes, and solvents.
- Basic familiarity with operating cleaning equipment; ability to learn to operate a variety of equipment including dish washing machine, buffer, vacuum cleaner, and use mops and brooms.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay range: $19.157-$21.286 per hour (USD).
