About the Role Join The Lawson Group as a Noise Exposure Consultant helping New England employers protect workers’ hearing and stay compliant with OSHA. The role focuses on conducting real-world noise exposure assessments, dosimetry, and designing practical hearing conservation programs, delivering actionable guidance to reduce risk and improve safety. What You'll Do
- Collect shift-long noise exposure data on-site using dosimeters and sound level meters.
- Perform decibel level assessments and dose measurements to quantify exposure across machines, tasks, and shifts.
- Interpret results to determine OSHA 85 dBA/8-hour exceedances and guide the design of a compliant hearing conservation program.
- Design and implement a hearing conservation program, including selecting appropriate hearing protection, training employees, and scheduling re-monitoring (typically every two years).
- Provide practical, data-driven recommendations and work with clients to implement engineering controls when feasible.
- Prepare clear, client-ready reports and present findings to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with clients to ensure recommendations are practical and operations remain productive. What We're Looking For
- Interest or experience in occupational noise exposure, dosimetry, and OSHA standards.
- Experience with on-site data collection through observation and monitoring.
- Familiarity with sound level meters and noise dosimeters.
- Ability to translate data into practical, actionable recommendations.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills.
- Degree in safety, engineering, industrial hygiene, or related field is a plus.
