NOC Engineer

Job Summary

The NOC Engineer role is tasked with visibility of network and system performance, detection of incidents and reduce downtime. Proactively monitor, respond and resolve issues affecting server, applications and network infrastructure.

Job Details

• Design, deploy, and manage enterprise network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, WLAN, firewalls, routers, switches, and access point controllers.
• Ensure high availability, performance optimization, and secure connectivity across all business locations and critical applications.
• Monitor network health and proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents to minimize downtime and service disruption.
• Configure and maintain network security controls, including firewall policies, VPNs, access control, intrusion prevention, and perimeter security.
• Manage IP addressing, VLANs, routing protocols, bandwidth utilization, and overall network segmentation and optimization.
• Support infrastructure expansion, new site deployments, upgrades, and integration of network services and technologies.
• Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date network documentation, including topology diagrams, configurations, and change records.
• Collaborate with IT security, infrastructure, and service desk teams while ensuring compliance with IT policies, standards, and business continuity requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as CCNA (required); CCNP or equivalent certifications are an added advantage.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Network Operations Centre (NOC) or Service Operations (SNOC) within an enterprise IT environment.
• Strong experience in monitoring and managing network, server, and application performance using NOC/SNOC tools.
• Good understanding of end-to-end infrastructure including servers, applications, databases, firewalls, and network components.
• Experience in incident detection, escalation, troubleshooting, and resolution in a 24/7 operations environment.
• Knowledge of ITIL processes and service management frameworks is an advantage
