Nigerian Navy Basic Training School – Batch 39
The Nigerian Navy Recruitment Exercise for Basic Training School Batch 39 is open to qualified Nigerian applicants seeking an opportunity to join the Nigerian Navy.
The recruitment exercise is open to candidates with O’Level/SSCE, OND/NCE and relevant trade qualifications, depending on the category being applied for.
Job responsibilities: Successful applicants will undergo basic military and naval training, receive instruction in naval operations, discipline and service, perform duties assigned by the Nigerian Navy, support the operational objectives and activities of the Nigerian Navy, and serve as Ordinary Seamen after successful completion of the required training.
Job requirements: Applicants must meet the following requirements: Must be a Nigerian citizen by birth; Must possess a National Identification Number (NIN); Must meet the minimum height requirement of 1.69m for males and 1.65m for females; Must be medically, physically and psychologically fit; Must meet Nigerian Navy medical and employment standards; Must have no previous conviction for a criminal offence.
O’Level/SSCE Applicants: Must be between 18 and 22 years as of 31 December 2026; Must possess at least five credits, including Mathematics and English Language; Results must not be from more than two sittings; WAEC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB results must not be older than 2020.
OND/NCE Applicants: Must generally be between 18 and 26 years as of 31 December 2026; Applicants for Chaplain/Imam Assistant and Drivers/Mechanic categories must be between 18 and 28 years; Must possess at least five relevant credits, including Mathematics and English Language, where applicable; Qualifying results must not be from more than two sittings and must meet the specified certificate-year requirements.
Tradesmen/Trade Applicants: Applicants applying for categories such as Tailoring, Carpentry, Plumbing, Masonry, Welding, Electrician, Painting, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Technology must possess the required Trade Test Certificate and the specified WAEC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB qualifications.
Medical-Related Applicants: Applicants for professions allied to medicine must possess an ND from a recognised training institution in Nigeria together with a valid practising licence.
Sportsmen/Sportswomen: Applicants applying as sportsmen or sportswomen should provide evidence of relevant sporting experience, including certificates and medals.
