About the Role Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is seeking a New Patient Coordinator to manage all aspects of new patient scheduling in accordance with department guidelines. The role provides superior customer service to patients, families, physicians and staff, and coordinates with a clinical practitioner group to facilitate patient care. The position will start in October 2026 and is located in Boston with a hybrid schedule (2-3 days onsite/week).
What You'll Do
- Manage all aspects of new patient scheduling following department guidelines and continuity of care standards.
- Provide superior customer service to patients, family members, physicians, and staff at all times.
- Triage issues and answer general questions, resolving requests in real time.
- Complete patient intake for callers, including gathering detailed clinical information and routing to appropriate care teams.
- Serve as a liaison for patients with efficient routing of calls per telephone triage guidelines.
- Schedule appointments, coordinate resources and materials, review and organize medical records, and ensure receipt of new patient appointment packets.
- Collect information from patients, internal/external providers, and ancillary staff; resolve problems directly or escalate to management as needed.
- Collaborate with the New Patient Coordinator team to ensure seamless coverage during varying staffing levels.
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures, compliance requirements, and service level expectations.
- Strive to meet defined service levels and key performance indicators.
- Perform other duties as required.

- Strong attention to detail and PC proficiency; ability to work well in a team.
- Experience in healthcare and/or customer service preferred; bachelor’s degree in health administration or related field strongly preferred.
- Up to 1 year of healthcare and/or customer service experience.
Nice to Have
- EMR portal familiarity and basic familiarity with medical records management; experience coordinating with clinical teams is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $45,500 - $54,400 per year.
- Hybrid work arrangement: 2-3 days on-site per week.
