About the Role Jones Day's Taipei Office is part of a global law firm with a strong cross-border orientation. The Firm's Taipei practice includes global disputes, mergers and acquisitions, banking and finance, capital markets, and intellectual property, and lawyers collaborate with colleagues from Jones Day offices worldwide. The Taipei Office seeks both interns and junior lawyers to work on demanding, complex matters and to participate in the Firm's One Firm Worldwide culture. Internships are available for US JD students who have completed their second year and who can communicate well in English and Chinese. The Taipei Office hires several junior level lawyers each year. New lawyers will attend the New Lawyer Academy in Washington, D.C., as part of onboarding and culture training. What You'll Do

  • Interns: participate in summer internships for US JD students who have completed their second year; collaborate with teams across the Firm to gain exposure to cross-border matters; communicate effectively in English and Chinese.
  • New Lawyers: join a select group of junior lawyers, work on world-class matters, and collaborate with colleagues across Jones Day offices globally; participate in training and integration activities as part of the One Firm Worldwide approach. What We're Looking For
  • Interns: US JD students who have completed their second year and can communicate well in English and Chinese.
  • New Lawyers: Taiwan-qualified lawyers (or with advanced degrees from Taiwan or abroad) preferred; LLM degree welcomed; some experience from the US, UK, or Australia is noted; ability to communicate well in English is essential; openness to cross-border transactional practice. Nice to Have
  • At least one or two years of legal experience and an LLM degree (preferred for new lawyers).
  • Taiwan-qualified lawyers with advanced degrees from universities in Taiwan or abroad.
  • Experience or interest in cross-border transactional practice and international collaboration. Compensation & Benefits
