Neurologist

About the Role

The Arora Group is recruiting a Neurologist to deliver patient care at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center (CRDAMC) at Fort Hood, serving active-duty service members and their families. This full-time position involves inpatient and outpatient neurology duties with flexible shifts (0530-2300, up to 16 hours), on-call and call-back requirements, including nights, weekends, and holidays. What You'll Do

• Provide inpatient consultation during normal duty hours; may be required to provide consultation outside of normal duty hours.

• Perform a wide range of neurological assessments and manage disorders including trauma, vascular disorders, tumors, infections, demyelinating disorders, metabolic derangements, dementia, movement disorders, sleep disorders, seizures, headaches, neuromuscular and/or other degenerative disorders.

• Examine patients, order and evaluate tests including electrophysiology, radiology, and laboratory tests.

• Diagnose and treat with medications and behavioral modalities; make referrals to other specialty clinics as needed.

• Communicate with referring physicians and primary care managers for management outside neurology; provide recommendations or definitive evaluation for neurology problems.

• Provide episodic care to clinic patients on a walk-in basis and evaluate/treat patients with complex problems screened by the Emergency Room for urgent neurologic issues.

• Occasionally consult on pediatric ICU patients; admit patients as needed.

• Perform the full range of physician services within privileges granted by the MTF; direct or assist in instruction of other healthcare professionals.

• Provide preventive and health maintenance care, order diagnostic tests, and coordinate referrals to ensure timely access to care.

• Document encounters accurately in the EHR within 48 hours; participate in quality reviews and maintain the Competency Assessment Folder (CAF).

• Engage in teaching, in-service training, CME opportunities, and departmental meetings as required; adhere to government and clinical standards. What We're Looking For

• Degree: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.).

• Education: Graduation from a medical school in the United States, Canada, or approved by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education of the American Medical Association (AMA), graduation from a college of osteopathy approved by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or graduation from a medical school with evidence of Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certification as identified in the base contract PWS Part 1.5.45.10.

• Board Certification: Board-certified in Neurology.
