About the Role As a Network Services team member, you will gain exposure to a large and complex network topology and be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and supporting the firm's global enterprise network. The role focuses on evolving our network infrastructure, investing in advanced technology, and contributing to network design discussions and solution implementations. This position is the first step in building an engineering career at Susquehanna.
What You'll Do
- Participate in network design discussions and help implement solutions across WAN, LAN, Enterprise, and Carrier networks.
- Troubleshoot issues across OSI layers 1-3 and support day-to-day operations; use the lab to test configurations before firm-wide deployment.
- Collaborate with Networking Engineers and other service teams (Security, Windows, Linux, Virtual, Storage, and DevOps) and rotate with senior engineers to tackle a wide array of projects.
- Develop innovative monitoring and configuration management approaches and assist with upgrading hardware and software firm-wide.
What We're Looking For
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Networking, Engineering or a similar technical major.
- Experience in LAN network support and troubleshooting OSI layers 1-3; network switching experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of network hardware, local area networks, internet protocols, fiber and copper wiring standards, Ethernet, and wireless technologies.
- Scripting and DevOps experience (Python, Ansible, Git) highly preferred.
- 0-4 years of professional experience.
- Exposure to WAN, LAN, Enterprise and Carrier Networking.
