Job title: Network Recruitment and Development Specialist

About the Role The Network Recruitment and Development Specialist will help build and maintain Behavioral Health Systems' PPO provider network, negotiate rates, and orient providers. Reporting to the Vice President, Provider Relations, this role supports clinical and accounting/marketing teams in delivering effective provider solutions across the organization.

What You'll Do

  • Develop, expand and maintain the PPO network, identify new providers, solicit providers and negotiate rates.
  • Adhere to established provider fee schedules and coordinate rate negotiations with the Vice President, Provider Relations and the Vice President, Finance.
  • Assist in conducting BHS provider orientations, including individual and regional training sessions, as requested.
  • Serve as liaison with treatment providers, clients, patients and others; resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Support the Clinical Division with client/case-specific provider hook-ups and problem-solving; assist in preparing proposals and related support services.
  • Assist Clinical Division and Accounting/Marketing Divisions as requested in support of specific or potential client contracts.
  • Maintain corporate, departmental and quality assurance policies and procedures; recommend new policies and revisions to PPO contract forms and rates as appropriate.
  • Participate in ongoing marketing and provider relations efforts, special projects, research and public relations activities as directed.
  • Coordinate information on competition, provider rates by region or city, and national statistics; make recommendations on product line enhancements.
  • Prepare reports and attend meetings; advise the Vice President, Provider Relations on field developments.
  • Perform other related duties as directed.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Three years provider relations experience, preferably with PPO/HMO or similar setting.
  • Experience in managed care/PPO environments.
  • Some experience/involvement in mental health field and public relations preferred.
  • Familiarity with case management/utilization review functions.
  • Familiarity with computerized applications (PCs, Word, Access and the internet).
  • Experience in services to business/industry preferable.
  • Experience with fiscal issues, rate negotiations, contractual terms.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and strong organizational skills.
  • Experience in group presentations/speaking preferable.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities; willing to perform extensive telephone work.
  • Professional appearance; cooperative attitude and self-starter; assertive and goal-oriented.
  • Willingness to perform duties as assigned and to operate in a team environment.
