Network Operations Engineer
Koch Engineered Solutions (KES) is looking for a Network Operations Engineer who wants to make a visible impact across a diverse, fast-moving business. Based in our Katy, Texas office, you will help keep critical network services reliable, secure and ready for what is next across manufacturing facilities, offices and active construction sites.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of network service quality across KES, turn performance data into action, and partner with our shared service provider to solve complex issues. You will shape standards, strengthen connectivity and help bring new and remote sites online, giving you the chance to work across both strategy and hands-on execution.
Our Team
The Infrastructure Operations team delivers reliable technology services through collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.
What You Will Do
- Assure the quality of routing, switching, wireless, remote access, and firewall services across KES locations.
- Review network health, configurations, policies, firmware, and compliance; identify gaps and coordinate remediation with Koch Technologies.
- Monitor service performance, incidents, and requests; set business priority and drive timely resolution and communication.
- Manage network lifecycle risks, refresh plans, documentation, and asset records.
- Oversee connectivity requirements, readiness, and service quality for construction and remote sites.
- Define measurable service standards, review provider performance, and drive corrective action.
- Work in a variety of environments, including indoor and outdoor industrial manufacturing spaces, active construction sites, server rooms and office spaces
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Hands-on experience with enterprise routing, switching, TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols, DNS, and DHCP.
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting enterprise firewalls, including Fortinet FortiGate and/or Cisco.
- Experience using monitoring and service management data to identify risks and drive vendors or service providers to resolution.
- Ability to travel an average of 30% of the time, including to active construction sites.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Network certification such as CCNA, CCNP or Fortinet NSE, or equivalent demonstrated experience
- Experience with Cisco Meraki cloud-managed networking across multiple organizations
- Working knowledge of ICS and OT network security, including the Purdue Model, and process control network segmentation
- Experience with zero trust or cloud-delivered security platforms such as Zscaler
- Experience standing up network infrastructure at greenfield, temporary or construction sites
- Experience working in manufacturing, industrial or construction environments
- Working knowledge of Microsoft server platforms, Active Directory, VMware and AWS or other cloud services
