Job title: Network Operations Engineer I
About the Role The Network Operations Engineer I is a network and server support engineer for CDN cluster environments. This role requires the ability to work independently with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, supporting global production CDN deployments and incident response.
What You'll Do
- Provide support for global production content delivery network deployments.
- Understand production and corporate network and internet peering strategies.
- Understand server hardware technologies related to content delivery performance and capacity.
- Day-to-day tasks involve working on multiple vendor servers and various software and hardware issues.
- Assist with traffic and queries raised by ISPs/partners.
- Support team in handling switches for incidents (input errors, CRC, RMA, etc.).
- Work with ISPs/vendors on fixing issues related to network.
- Participate in 24/7 support with other teams across the globe. Some weekend work may be required.
- Other duties as required.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) from a four-year college or university and 0 to 2 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Builds stable working relationships internally.
- Follows standard practice and procedures when analyzing situations or data.
- Understanding of fiber-optic technology including cable types, connector types, optic types, patch panels, and optical transport technologies.
- Understanding of preparing root cause analysis for any network and server outages.
- Programming and scripting capabilities.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to work with service providers, colocation facilities, and ISPs around the world.
Nice to Have
- Experience working in a multi-vendor network environment.
- Network certifications, including server level certifications.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: 45,280.00 - 56,600.00 EUR (Annual).
- This base pay only; it does not include other forms of compensation which may apply (bonuses, benefits, incentives) — none guaranteed.
