About the Role As a hands-on NetOps Engineer at Capgemini, you ensure availability, performance and security of a complex network infrastructure for a cross-border independent operator of the national high-voltage grid in the Netherlands and a large part of Germany. You combine operational management with advanced troubleshooting and structural improvements in a 24/7 environment. You will leverage automation (e.g., Ansible) and AI-assisted analysis under security guidelines to deliver controlled, compliant customer solutions. What You'll Do
- Implement improvements aimed at availability, performance, security, and manageability of the IT infrastructure.
- Perform daily operations and technical changes on enterprise networks and related management platforms.
- Monitor and safeguard network availability and performance, including proactive trend and risk analysis.
- Investigate and resolve complex second- and third-line incidents in collaboration with internal teams and external service providers.
- Prepare change proposals, implementation plans, problem reports, and permanent solution directions.
- Automate recurring network administration activities, including using Ansible.
- Work according to Agile methodologies and ITIL processes; participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation when needed. What We're Looking For
- HBO-level education and thinking, preferably with a degree in IT or Informatics.
- At least three to five years of proven administration/management experience in complex enterprise IT infrastructures.
- Recent hands-on knowledge of Cisco Nexus and Arista switching and routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and IS-IS.
- Experience with Check Point and Palo Alto firewalls, A10 load balancers, Aruba ClearPass and Aruba Wireless.
- Experience with Ansible or similar network automation is a plus.
- Strong analytical ability, risk awareness, and the ability to act methodically and result-oriented under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English; the ability to clearly communicate borders, risks and recommendations.
- Flexible, professional, team player who takes responsibility for appropriate client solutions.
- You apply AI-assisted analysis and documentation in a controlled and security-compliant manner. Nice to Have
- Experience with Ansible or similar network automation is a nice-to-have.
