About the Role
As a Network Operations Center Tier II Systems Administrator, you will administer Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems and virtual infrastructure to support mission-critical networks. You’ll ensure uptime, monitor performance, and identify opportunities to modernize the environment with automation and modern tooling.
What You'll Do
- Administer and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux-based systems and virtualization infrastructure, ensuring functionality and availability.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and tune performance; translate metrics into actionable insights for customers and team.
- Design, implement, and maintain infrastructure using Ansible, oVirt, FreeIPA, pfSense, Docker, Jira, and Confluence; support provisioning of virtual infrastructure.
- Lead and mentor teammates; share knowledge and help develop new methodologies.
- Identify opportunities to modernize the network and apply Infrastructure-as-Code to deployments.
- Collaborate with DoD clients to support mission-critical cyber defense.
- Work with Jira and Confluence for issue tracking and collaboration.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience with Linux.
- Experience in a system engineering or system administration role.
- Experience with Linux system administration and Virtual Machine Management.
- Experience with Jira ticketing and Confluence.
- Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph; HS diploma or GED.
Nice to Have
- Experience with advanced troubleshooting of network, firewall, system, and application issues (oVirt, FreeIPA, pfSense).
- Provisioning virtual infrastructure and allocating virtual infrastructure hosting software.
- Experience with container provisioning tools, including Docker.
- Experience with Apache NiFi deployments.
- Ability to use automation tools and Infrastructure-as-Code to manage installations, pipelines, and scripting.
- Bachelor's degree in CS, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering.
- IAT Level II Certification.
- Clear expectation for leadership and mentoring capabilities.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 per year (USD).
