About the Role Corning is seeking an IT cabling specialist to support IT cabling design and solutions aligned with Corning's technology standards to meet the connectivity needs of the business. The role involves design, deployment, and operational support of cabling environments. What You'll Do
- Install, terminate, and test network cabling systems, including CAT6, CAT6a, and fiber optic cables.
- Diagnose and resolve network issues related to cabling.
- Maintain and upgrade existing network cabling systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety and building codes.
- Document network layouts, hardware types, and wiring connections for future reference.
- Provide training and support to end-users as needed. What We're Looking For
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: 5+ years in the enterprise or telecommunications industry, managing large-scale cabling installations or supervising teams.
- Required Skills:
- Understanding of technical diagrams, floor plans, and network blueprints.
- Expertise with advanced fiber optics, including splicing and testing equipment such as OTDR and Fluke tester.
- Understanding of Corning Cabling System Product specs to develop BOMs according to business requirements.
- Understanding of network architecture, TCP/IP protocol and structured cabling plans.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiar with facility design of computer rooms including A/C, Fire Extinguisher and Electric Power System.
- Familiar with CAD design and able to modify drawings to reflect building layout.
- Nice to Have:
- Experience coordinating or supervising cabling projects.
- Ability to collaborate with team members, supervisors, and customers effectively.
- Providing clear technical explanations to non-technical users.
- Flexibility to work with various environments, including production, office or equivalent area. Travel
- Up to 25% travel required, generally in Asia.
- May occasionally travel outside Asia.
