Job title: Network Engineer

About the Role The Network team at Marex is responsible for the design, implementation, operation and maintenance of the global network infrastructure, with a focus on automation and scripting to enhance efficiency. This role supports the wider Technology group and ensures security and regulatory requirements are met in a fast-paced financial environment.

What You'll Do

• Maintain the Marex Network and provide operational support for all network-related issues.
• Implement new network requirements/changes and participate in design/architecture discussions with the Network team.
• Procure equipment and manage vendors; support network maintenance activities for internal teams and third parties.
• Report network status to key stakeholders and ensure alignment with regulatory and risk-management frameworks.
• Be flexible with hours to support global network operations and collaborate across multiple technologies and vendors.
• Adhere to Marex’s regulatory, risk, security and Code of Conduct requirements.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in the banking/finance industry is desirable.
• Qualifications: CCNP, JNCIP, JNCIS, PCNSE or equivalent desirable.
• Deep knowledge of WAN technologies (MPLS, IPSEC VPN, SD-WAN, QoS, NAT) and Routing Protocols (BGP/OSPF/EIGRP).
• Strong experience with Firewall and security technologies (Next-Gen firewalling, User-ID, SSL decryption, NAC, Radius/TACACS).
• Cloud networking experience (AWS VPCs, Transit Gateways, Direct Connect, VPN Gateways; Azure Vnet, VPN GW, ExpressRoute).
• Automation: Python, Ansible; IaC tooling.
• Vendors: Palo Alto, Cisco, Juniper, Arista, Aruba (wifi/Clearpass).
• Hardware: Palo Alto PA220/440/3200 series, Panorama; Cisco Nexus 9k; Cisco 9200/9300/4500; Juniper SRX/MX; Arista 7k; Aruba APs and Clearpass NAC.
• Troubleshooting and design capabilities across WAN and campus LAN, DMZ design, and understanding exchange connectivity (CME, SGX, ICE, Eurex, LME).
• Excellent communication, pro-active, and risk-aware mindset; experience in regulated environments; strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; use of automation tooling.

Nice to Have

• Experience in the financial services sector and familiarity with exchange connectivity challenges.
• Additional cloud networking experience and vendor-specific certifications.
