About the Role The Network Engineer at Molex, part of Koch IP Holdings, will design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure to ensure high availability, performance, and security. This role collaborates with multiple teams to support network-related projects and initiatives.
What You'll Do
- Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
- Develop and enforce network policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance and security.
- Collaborate with the Network Operations Center, Network Product Team, and other departments to support network-related projects and initiatives.
- Stay up to date with the latest network technologies and industry trends to drive continuous improvement.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior network engineers and other team members.
- Document network configurations, changes, and incidents to maintain accurate records.
- Operate with a systems design mindset, driving towards utility service experience and proactive improvements.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in network engineering, with a strong understanding of network protocols, hardware, and software.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues.
- Experience with dense wireless, network automation or SD-WAN.
- Confidence in implementing and administering technical solutions, such as firewalls, routers, VPNs, and servers.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools, as well as network security best practices.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Nice to Have
- Experience in network and security.
- Experience in automation and Python.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and best practices.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent.
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of cloud networking and virtualization technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
