Job title: Network Engineer - Cisco Services
About the Role
We are seeking a Cisco services professional to work with customers and internal/external resources to strategize, deploy, and optimize Cisco solutions. The role involves delivering designs, implementing projects, and resolving issues across a range of Cisco routing and switching technologies. You will serve as the initial focal point for problem resolution and collaborate with stakeholders to meet customer needs.
What You'll Do
- Assists with task/project implementation for assigned customer engagements
- Co-create and review project deliverables such as Design Recommendations, High Level Design (HLD), Low Level Design (LLD), and Implementation/Change Management Plans
- Build and/or leverage test environments to solve medium complexity problems and compatibility issues
- Apply software skills and tools to configure, deploy and troubleshoot Cisco products and solutions
- Act as the primary focal point for problem resolution across assigned customer engagements and provide support for timely resolution of technical issues
- Collaborate proactively with internal stakeholders to optimize resources and meet customer needs
- Interact with individual contributors and managers; may interface with customers
- Prior experience conducting customer workshops and experience in high-level and low-level network design is preferred
What We're Looking For
- BE/B.Tech/BSc Computer Science or equivalent
- CCNA is a must; CCNP is a plus; CCIE (ENT) is preferred
- Strong knowledge of Routing and Switching technologies: IGP, OSPF, EIGP/EGP, BGP, STP, RSTP, VTP, VSS, vPC, vDC, MSTP, LACP, VLAN
- LAN switching technologies knowledge: STP, RSTP, VTP, VSS, MSTP, LACP, VLAN, VXLAN-EVPN
- Familiarity with Cisco routing and switching platforms (e.g., ISR 1800/1900/2900/3900/4000 Series, ASR 1000, Catalyst 6500/6800/4500/3850)
- Experience in installation, configuration, testing and troubleshooting or network solution design for Cisco routers and switches
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to convey technology strategy and architecture to engineers, executives and customers
- Strong consulting and client-facing skills with cross-functional influence
- Prior experience conducting customer workshops; High-Level and Low-Level design experience is preferred
- Routing & Switching SP Domain – XR, ASR9K, BGP, MPLS, BNG, Segment Routing
- Knowledge of emerging technologies such as SDA/SDWAN/ACI is preferred
- Knowledge of Nexus Switches, UCS products and HyperFlex
- Network automation skills preferred (Python/ Ansible/ GoLang/ Splunk)
