About the Role

Cape Fox subsidiary Cape Fox Federal Integrators (CFFI) is seeking a Network and Computer Systems Administrator-SME Systems Administrator IV to support a federal government client at Dugway Proving Ground, Utah. The Senior Systems Administrator will provide advanced enterprise server administration, infrastructure management, and systems engineering support to ensure high availability, security compliance, and operational readiness across the computing environment. This role requires collaboration with network, cybersecurity, and application support teams and may involve mentorship of junior staff. The position is contingent upon award.

What You'll Do

  • Install, configure, and support an organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and Internet systems or a segment of a network system.

  • Monitor network availability for all system users and perform maintenance as needed to ensure continuity.

  • Monitor and test website performance to ensure availability and reliability.

  • Assist in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software.

  • Supervise computer user support specialists and computer network support specialists.

  • Administer network security measures.

  • Administer, maintain, and optimize Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux (RHEL/CentOS) server environments supporting the government mission.

  • Manage Active Directory (AD) infrastructure, including domain controllers, organizational units, user/group accounts, trust relationships, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs); design and maintain GPO configurations to enforce security policies and standardized user environments across the enterprise.

  • Plan and execute server patching cycles in accordance with DoD Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) requirements, ensuring timely security updates and STIG compliance.

  • Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions, including scheduling, validation, testing, and documentation of recovery procedures.

  • Deploy and maintains enterprise monitoring tools to proactively identify system performance issues and potential failures.

  • Perform server hardware and virtual infrastructure management (VMware vSphere/ESXi or Hyper-V).

  • Troubleshoot complex system issues across multi-platform environments; perform root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions.

  • Develop and maintain system documentation, including SOPs, network diagrams, configuration baselines, and disaster recovery plans.

  • Support cybersecurity compliance activities, including STIG application, vulnerability remediation, and participation in RMF authorization processes.

  • Coordinate with network, database, and application support teams to ensure seamless interoperability.

  • Provide Tier III technical support and escalation resolution for complex server and infrastructure issues.

  • Mentor junior systems administrators to build team capability.

  • What We're Looking For

  • Experience administering Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022) and Linux (RHEL/CentOS).

  • Proficiency with Active Directory, domain controllers, OUs, user/group accounts, trusts, and Group Policy Objects (GPOs).

  • Strong knowledge of security baselines, patch management, and STIG/IAVM requirements.

  • Experience with backup and disaster recovery planning and testing.

  • Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere/ESXi or Hyper-V).

  • Experience with enterprise monitoring tools and cross-platform troubleshooting.

  • Ability to coordinate across network, database, and application teams; provide Tier III support; and mentor junior staff.

  • Familiarity with RMF authorization processes and cybersecurity practices related to government systems.

  • Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $115,000 – $145,000 per year.
