About the Role
Corning's global IT function is seeking a .NET Web Developer to help design, modify, and support manufacturing software used to produce optical fiber. You will work with a team to meet division objectives, drive cost reductions, and contribute to capacity expansion initiatives. The role combines development work with occasional project leadership in a manufacturing environment.
What You'll Do
- Develop and support Manufacturing Systems software across the optical fiber division, collaborating with engineers to enable manufacturing processes.
- Modify and enhance computer systems required to manufacture optical fiber; participate in capital projects; provide on-call support as needed.
- Contribute to cost reduction efforts and capacity expansion initiatives; travel up to 0-10% may be required.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years' OO design and development with languages such as C#, VB.Net, Java, Python.
- Proficiency in programming with C#, VB.Net, SQL, and Git.
- Experience with MVC and/or Blazor; Windows Server and IIS administration; familiarity with Git and Azure DevOps/GitLab; production support in a manufacturing environment; strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
Nice to Have
- Additional hands-on experience with MVC/Blazor, Windows Server, and IIS administration.
- Familiarity with Git and Azure DevOps/GitLab in a collaborative environment.
- Prior production support experience within manufacturing.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging abilities with a customer-driven mindset.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: USD 93,046 – 127,938 per year (full-time).
