About the Role The Neonatal Pediatric Hospitalist at Elmhurst Hospital provides comprehensive care to newborns across the L&D, newborn nursery, and NICU. Working autonomously and in collaboration with the neonatology team, the role emphasizes delivery room resuscitation, diagnosis, management, and long-term care for late preterm infants. What You'll Do
- Provide appropriate medical care to newborn patients in L&D, newborn nursery, and NICU during scheduled shifts.
- Ensure complete and accurate medical records; perform procedural tasks as needed (PPV, intubation, central lines, chest tubes).
- Participate in quality improvement and policy development; collaborate with the interdisciplinary team; may participate in clinical research. What We're Looking For
- MD licensure in Illinois; Federal DEA and Illinois Controlled Substances License required.
- Completion of accredited pediatric residency or Master's level program in specialty area.
- BLS for Healthcare Providers and NRP certifications required; American Board of Pediatrics eligible.
- 5+ years of IP Newborn experience (highly preferred) or other relevant acute pediatric experience.
- Special knowledge: newborn airway management including intubation; central line placement (umbilical and PCVC); newborn chest tube placement. Nice to Have
- 5+ years of IP Newborn experience highly preferred; or other relevant acute pediatric experience. Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $162,000-$193,000 yearly (USD).
