Job title: NDT Operator - X-Ray Level 1 (2nd Shift)

About the Role The NDT Operator (X-Ray) Level 1 performs radiographic inspections on parts to detect defects and deviations from specifications. This is a 2nd shift on-site role based in Mentor, Ohio, supporting Precision Castparts’ airfoil casting operations. The position requires strict adherence to safety and quality standards and may involve handling hazardous materials per MSDS.

What You'll Do

• Inspect parts for defects and deviations from specifications using X-ray radiography and other QA tools.
• Operate precision measuring instruments and complex test equipment.
• Process parts according to applicable specifications and use manuals to support inspection techniques.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the work area; keep accurate daily records and routing documentation.
• Move inventory related to X-ray operations, stock film, and package exposed film for storage.
• Follow routing card sequences; assist with additional duties as assigned by supervisor or Level III technician.
• Perform system capability checks and ensure compliance with safety policies; handle hazardous waste per MSDS and company policy.
• Maintain a safe, orderly work environment and meet efficiency standards.
• Complete required training to pass Level 1 certification and maintain visual acuity criteria.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent; education may be substituted with relevant work experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as an operator in a manufacturing environment; previous casting experience is a plus.
• Ability to meet deadlines, maintain a strong attendance record, and work well in a team-focused, problem-solving environment.
• Strong sense of urgency, self-starter attitude, and ability to work independently; effective communication with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
• Willingness to study and prepare to pass Level 1 NDT certification; able to meet physical and mental demands of the role.
• Ability to pass a visual acuity exam; comfortable working in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

• NDT Level 1 certification or prior Level 1 experience.
• Experience with X-ray inspection, radiographic testing, blueprint reading, and MSDS compliance.
• Knowledge of inventory handling and safety procedures in an aerospace manufacturing setting.
