Job title: NDT Level III
About the Role As a Responsible NDT Level III, you will act as the prime technical contact and provide expert judgment for the development and implementation of NDT processes, plans, and procedures. The role includes qualification and certification of NDT personnel to NAS 410, auditing NDT systems at the assigned facility, and ensuring compliance with all NDT processes and standards. The position carries authority to stop the manufacturing process when necessary to uphold quality.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and verify work instructions for NDT methods to be compliant with customer specifications and requirements.
- Train, test, and certify NDT inspectors in the method(s) and techniques certified per PCC’s Quality Control procedures; maintain overall control of the NDT Training program and designate or approve qualified Examiners, Instructors and outside agencies.
- Analyze and interpret inspection quality data, investigate product defects, and recommend modifications to products or quality standards where warranted.
- Serve as a liaison with customers and regulatory bodies; provide guidance to sales, engineering, and manufacturing on NDT issues related to customer inquiries.
- Assist in the development of new NDT processes and procedures, including evaluating new technology for cost reduction opportunities and obtaining customer approval.
- Ensure compliance with customer and government regulations pertaining to the inspection departments; maintain NADCAP and customer approvals.
- Maintain all aspects of the NDT inspection program (vision exams, X-ray film silver recovery, calibration of NDT equipment, internal audits, maintenance).
What We're Looking For
- BS in engineering with 5-8 years of relevant experience, or MS in engineering with 3-4 years of relevant experience, or equivalent.
- Broad knowledge of mechanical, industrial, and materials science engineering along with investment casting technology.
- Knowledge of engineering principles and disciplines; experience with manufacturing processes and statistical analysis.
- Ability to understand and apply NAS 410 requirements and NDT standards; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Nice to Have
- NAS 410 familiarity or certification; NADCAP experience and approvals.
- Experience in training and certifying NDT inspectors.
- Knowledge of X-ray/NDT techniques and testing equipment calibration programs; experience in quality systems and audits.
