About the Role The N.D.E Inspector in the pipe shop area is responsible for identifying surface and subsurface defects, conducting non-destructive testing (N.D.E) to ensure the quality of pipes in a manufacturing setting. This role involves using various testing methods, equipment, and techniques to assess the integrity and quality of finished products.
What You'll Do
- Identify surface and subsurface defects in pipes using non-destructive testing (N.D.E) to ensure product quality in a manufacturing environment.
- Conduct ultrasonic inspection and other N.D.E methods with available equipment to assess pipe integrity.
- Lift test blocks weighing 5 to 25 pounds as part of inspection procedures.
- Employ varying postures and physical activities for inspection tasks, including frequent dynamic standing, forward and side reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, and attention to near and far acuity.
- Adapt to different postures to perform job tasks associated with N.D.E inspection.
