Job title: National Production Manager

About the Role The National Production Manager will lead Merchant and Onsite industrial gas manufacturing activities across Canada, focusing on variable cost management, productivity, outage planning, inventory management and plant efficiency tracking. This role interacts with executive management to quantify, support, and communicate product supply impacts and plant operating information to ensure business objectives are met.

What You'll Do

  • Manage all variable costs across the site—electricity, gas, CO2, water, and steam—ensuring accurate budgeting, variance tracking, and accruals.
  • Optimize power costs and supply strategies (short- and long-term) and provide real-time guidance to plants.
  • Drive savings by leveraging power programs, ensuring compliance while maximizing cost benefits.
  • Coordinate planned or unplanned plant downtime, including scheduling, backup support, and proper inventory management.
  • Track and report monthly performance metrics such as production volumes, costs, utilization, reliability, and environmental impact.
  • Review and approve all variable cost invoices for financial accuracy.
  • Align stakeholders and connect power costs, margins, forecasts, and business impacts across teams.
  • Interpret contracts and regulations; lead productivity initiatives using data and analysis to identify improvement opportunities and track project benefits.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree (engineering preferred) with solid technical foundation.
  • 5+ years of experience with ASU, CO2, or similar plant operations.
  • Comfortable monitoring plant performance and KPIs; using data to support operational decisions.
  • Experience with financial controls, budgeting, and understanding cost flow through operations.
  • Energy management experience is a big plus, especially if you’ve worked with electricity markets.
  • Strong Excel skills for analysis and reporting.
  • Experience on productivity or improvement projects; ability to clearly explain cost-benefit impact.
  • Operationally focused, driven to succeed, with strong interpersonal skills to work across teams.

  • Energy management experience, especially with electricity markets.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual salary: USD 126,000–155,000 per year.
