About the Role The Graduate Assistant – Swim Lesson Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and supporting the administration of the UIW Natatorium Swim Lesson Program. This position manages scheduling, recruitment, training, supervision, and evaluation of swim instructors, ensures high-quality instruction and customer service, maintains participant records, and aids in promotion and registration. The role supports daily natatorium operations and reports to the Director of Sports and Wellness. This is a student position open to UIW graduate students.

What You'll Do

• Coordinate planning, scheduling, registration, and daily operations of the UIW Swim Lesson Program, including group and private lessons.
• Recruit, train, mentor, schedule, and supervise swim lesson instructors; monitor instruction and provide coaching and continuing education.
• Maintain accurate participant records, instructor certifications, attendance, and program documentation.
• Communicate with participants and families regarding class placement, scheduling, policies, and customer service inquiries.
• Evaluate the program regularly and recommend improvements for safety and instructional quality.
• Assist with marketing and promotional efforts to increase participation and community outreach.
• Conduct routine facility walkthroughs to ensure safe, clean instructional areas for daily programming.
• Support natatorium operations and special events as assigned; supervise during holiday and school breaks as required.
• Uphold UIW mission, vision, and values; perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

• UIW Graduate Student status.

• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office.

• Ability to work with diverse communities; knowledge of swimming, diving, or synchronized swimming at the collegiate level; ability to conduct swim lessons.

• Ability to plan, organize, schedule staff, supervise, and maintain effective working relationships.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills; adherence to university, conference, and NCAA rules.

• Required Education: UIW Graduate Student.

• Work Experience: Previous Lifeguard experience.

• Required Certifications/Licenses: CPR and First Aid Certification; American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification; Instructor certification.

Nice to Have

• One (1) year experience in pool program/setting or sports management atmosphere.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $13.00 per hour (for 20-25 hours/week, up to 25 hours). Includes tuition waiver.
• Work hours: 20 hours per week; evenings and weekends may be required; schedule around pool availability.
